Regain Control

At The Epec Clinic we believe that there is indeed a happier and healthier life waiting for you when you regain control and realize that you are the creator of your reality. And we are here to help you.

In one of our treatment programs to fight against opioid addiction, we offer suboxone treatment. This treatment includes the intake of a combination of two drugs; buprenorphine and naloxone. The buprenorphine helps reduce rates of misuse and lowers the effects of physical dependence on opioids. Naloxone works to attach itself to the body's opioid receptors blocking any other from attaching. Consequently, this helps one fight off the addiction and get clean. But then again, we understand that certain drugs or medications will not react well when taken alongside Suboxone. Here are some of them;

Suboxone and Alcohol

Alcohol is a drug that depresses the system. When mixed with Suboxone, it further suppresses the body's central nervous system. The most prevalent side effects you will experience with this interaction are low blood pressure, slowed breathing rate, profound sedation, coma, and even death.

Suboxone and Cocaine

This interaction will be fatal in that it will drastically reduce the effectiveness of Suboxone in the first place. The likely effect you are to see with this combination is someone who lacks the will to stay clean. The other possible outcome is the growing dependency on multiple drugs called multi-drug addiction.

Suboxone and Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are drugs like Xanax and Valium that are potent and used as painkillers. These two classes of drugs do not mix very well as they are both depressors of the Central Nervous System. If you take this combination of drugs, at the most extreme you risk death. Then there is also the likelihood of physical and mental impairment, unconsciousness, respiratory arrest, and coma.

How we mitigate this

At The Epec Clinic we inform all the patients about these drug interactions and their dangers to the body. We ensure that we educate them thoroughly so that they know what risks they are faced with if they do. Besides informing them, we offer extra care by closely monitoring their movements to ensure none of the above happens.

Our goal is to guide you to make better choices for your overall quality of life. So we do all we can to ensure you receive the results that you’re looking for. Contact us today and get started on your journey to creating the life that you desire addiction free!
